Oakville Sentinel: Chas. W. Brewer was born in Tyler county, West Virginia, December 28, 1831; died at his home south of Oakville Sunday, June 4, 1911, aged 79 years, 5 months and 6 days. Mr. Brewer came to Burlington, Iowa, in 1852 and on May 9th, 1854 was united in marriage to Minerva Olom. They resided in Burlington, or near there for a number of years. On March 1, 1882, he moved to the home where he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, who has been his partner for fifty-seven years, and one son Milan A. Brewer, who was at home and assisted in caring for him The funeral service was held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. E. Butler and burial was made in the Hinson cemetery near Kingston.
