Mrs. Blanche Simmons, a resident of Columbus Junction, passed away after a lingering illness, at the home of her mother. Mrs S. E. Barringer late Saturday night. The deceased woman was born November 20, 1868, at Fredonia, Iowa. She received her education in Columbus Junction, where most of her life was spent. On November 25, 1887, she was united in marriage to Eugene Larrington and to this union was born one child, Mrs. V. B. Fraze, of Muscatine. On April 11, 1900, she was married a second time, wedding Alvin Simmons.

The beginning of Mrs. Simmons illness dates from the time she underwent an operation at Muscatine hospital, December 1908. In April, 1910, it was found necessary to again take her to a hospital, where she has been twice since. Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Mrs. V. B. Fraze, of Muscatine, her mother , Mrs. S. E. Barrier, and two sisters, Mrs. A. Sherridan and Mrs. W. T. Brown, of Columbus Junction. Her father preceded her in death over a year ago. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home. The services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Gillian, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in the Columbus City cemetery.
