OLIN - Martin Henry Petersen, 86, died Sunday, May 14 at the home of his son, Robert Petersen, Hale.

Memorial services were held at Hayden's funeral home, Olin, Wednesday, May 17. The Rev. Lawrence Odegard conducted the service and interment was at Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included William Reese, Paul Hartwig, Ernest Behnke, John Amend; Raymond James and Peter Petersen.

He was born in Hamburg, Germany April 11, 1886. He came to the United States and was married to Lizzie Nowachek in 1906. Most of Mr. Petersen's adult life was spent in southern Jones county.

Survivors include seven children, Henry, Richard and Ralph, Olin; Willie, Anaheim, Calif.; Frances Lindley, Anamosa; Frederick, Amber; and Robert, Hale; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1938 and a daughter, Grace, in 1969.
