Hulda M. Nielsen, 72, died Sunday, May 21, 1972 as the result of injuries suffered in a automobile accident near McGregor.

She was born at DeWitt, Dec. 19, 1899, the daughter of Andrew and Alvena Pries Nielsen. In 1909 she moved with her parents to Jones county. She attended the Anamosa schools and graduated with the class of 1922. She later took a correspondence course in accounting.

For several years she was secretary for the Antioch school. After her father's death she moved to Anamosa with her mother in 1960. She was the Anamosa chairman for the Jones county tuberculosis association the past year.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Francis (Malinda) Derga, Clarence; three brothers, Clarence and Andrew, Anamosa; Henry, Summer, Wash., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a infant brother.

Funeral services were held at Goettsch Funeral home Wednesday, May 24 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Interment was in Elmwood cemetery, DeWitt.

Casket bearers were Jack Byers, Alvin Byerly, Ralph Harms, Donald Derga, William Larson, Darvin Hardersen.
