OLIN - Charles Alvin Kline, 92, died Friday, April 21 at Monticello. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's United Methodist church, Olin, Sunday, April 23. The Rev. Clifford Carter conducted the service. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers include Arthur Engelking, Willard Hoyman, W. F. Robertson, Stanley Allen, Gilbert Jones and Arno Lawson.

He was born May 30, 1879, the son of William and Mary Kohl Kline, at White Oak Community, Jones county. He attended rural schools in the area. He was married to Eva Catherine Fisher Feb. 19, 1903 at Deep River. The couple farmed in Cedar county for five years before moving to Jones county where they continued to farm.

A well known fancier of horses, he attended many horse shows and shipped many fine teams into the eastern states.

He was a member of the Evangelical White Oak church, transfering his membership to St. Paul's United Methodist church of Olin after moving to his area.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Mildred) Lyon, Mrs. Raymond (Velma) James, and one brother, Clayton Kline, all of Olin; two grandsons, five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1944, his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
