Bessie G. Byers, 68, died at Anamosa Community hospital Tuesday, April 25, 1972 following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral home with the Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Byerly, Warren Byerly, Richard Seeley, David Seeley, Clark Seeley and Robert Seeley.
Bessie Byers was born Jan. 9, 1904 at Oxford Mills, the daughter of William B. and Mary Alice Stout Seeley. She was employed by local restaurants for a number of years, and more recently as a practical nurse and domestic worker.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Esther) Byerly; and a son, Robert Byers, both of Anamosa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pillard, Central City; Mrs. Edith Wrigley, Cedar Rapids; and Mrs. Wilma Hogan, Pontiac, Mich.; four brothers, Noman B., Donald and Max, Anamosa; and Harlan, Hwachuca, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
