OLIN - Mrs. Elsie Gordon, 88, died at Mt. Vernon Tuesday, April 11. A prayer service was held at 11:30 a.m. and memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Hayden's Funeral home, Olin. The Rev. Lawrence R. Odegard, pastor of Olin First United Methodist church, conducted the service. Interment was at Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Allen Graf, Virgil Vernon, Walter Laetare, Carl Fedderson, Bliss Switzer and Willard Hoyman.

Mrs. Gordon was born April 29, 1883, in Jones county, the daughter of William Marion and Julia Elizabeth House Walton. Most of her life was spent in the Olin area. She was a seamstress until she retired a few years ago because of her health. She was a member of the Olin First United Methodist church.

Survivors include one brother, Leo Walton, Jenkins, Minn. and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in February, 1950; her parents, three brothers and one sister.
