John Eiben 1918-1972

Funeral services for John Eiben were held at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Lost Nation, Monday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. William Carter officiating. Mr. Eiben died at his home Saturday, March 11, 1972. He was born near Monticello August 18, 1918, the son of Henry Jr. and Ellen Warner Eiben.

Dec. 27, 1950 he was married to Vera Doerman in Clarence, and they had two sons. During World War II, he served five years in the US Army. After their marriage the Eibens farmed in Cedar, Jones and Clinton counties. For the past year they have lived in Wheatland. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran church, where he served on the church council.

He is survived by his wife, Vera; two sons, Marlin and Dale; four brothers, Arthur and Harold, Monticello; Paul, Cascade; two sisters, Mrs. George (Betty) Redmond, Monticello, and Mrs. Jim (Marian) Blunt, Scotch Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

Pallbearers were Vernon Mowry, Lester Mowry, Roy Mowry, LaVern Pringel, Gilbert Leinbaugh and Myron Schneider.
