Mrs. James (Rosa) Greene, 81, of Kansas City, Mo., a former resident of Anamosa, died Saturday, March 11 at Lakeside hospital, Kansas City, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 14 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Christian church, Mountain Home, Ark.
She was born Sept. 17, 1890 at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Henry S. and Christina Frezee Lesch. She was married April 10, 1912 to James M. Greene at Hale, Iowa. The couple farmed near the Hale and Antioch communities and Greene operated a store in Wyoming before moving to Anamosa where he was employed by the Anamosa Farmers Creamery. In 1926 they moved to Mountain Home, where they were engaged in farming. Mrs. Greene was a charter member of Memorial Christian church, Mountain Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Lillian) Lackey, Kansas City, with whom she made her home; a sister, Mrs. Anna Luckstedt, Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958 and by a son John, in 1936.
