Emil H. "Dutch" Levsen, 73, a former resident of Cedar Rapids and vicinity, died at Minneapolis Sunday, March 12, 1972 following a sudden illness. Born April 29, 1898, at Wyoming, he had played for the Cleveland Indians baseball club and was known for having pitched and won a double header in the same day.
Mr. Levsen had lived in Springville at one time and was manager of the Springville creamery. He was a member of Springville lodge, AF and AM, Cedar Rapids Consistory and El Kahir Shrine.
Eastern Iowa survivors are a daughter, Betty Jeanne Franklin, Maquoketa; a brother Paul Levsen, Wyoming, and a sister, Betty Hawes, Cedar Rapids.
Services were held at Turner chapel east at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 by the Very Rev. Canon D.A. Loferski and Springville lodge, AF and AM. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.
