Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Stone City, for Albert A. Houska. Houska died Feb. 11 at Anamosa Community hospital following a brief illness. The Rev. Robert Ament conducted the services and burial was in Holy Cross cemetery, Anamosa. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Born June 11, 1891 at Lamont, he was the son of John and Mary Victoria Houska. He was married Nov. 27, 1916 at Immaculate Conception church, Masonville, to Nellie Frances O'Brien. They farmed in the Central city and Stone City area and he was employed for 10 years by Allis Chalmers.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie; two daughters, Mrs. William (Mildred) Frasher and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Frasher, both of Central City; a son, John P. Houska, Stockton, Calif.; a grandson, Alan A. Houska, Anamosa, who had made his home with the Albert Houskas since he was an infant; a brother, Peter of Lamont; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Francis Houska, Peter Houska Jr., Norman Seeley, Francis Walker, James Frasher and Ralph Ralston.
