WYOMING - Funeral services for William (Big Bill) Somerville of Wyoming, 82, were held at the Wyoming Methodist church on Monday, Jan. 31 at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.
William Somerville was born July 31, 1889 at Blakesburg, Iowa, the son of Henry and Jane Smith Somerville. His childhood was spent near Blakesburg where he attended rural school. He later attended God's Bible School, Cincinnati, Ohio. He was married to Florence Bowman at Flaxsville, Mont. July 1, 1918.
They lived in many areas in Iowa where he was employed as a salesman. In 1943 they moved to Wyoming where he began Big Bill's feed business with his sons. He remained active in the business until seven years ago, and at the time of his death, was vice-president of the firm. Mrs. Somerville died May 12, 1967. He married Helen Clark Oct. 5, 1968 at Billings, Mont.
Mr. Somerville died suddenly at his home Friday, Jan. 28, 1972. He was a member of the Monticello Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, the Rev. Paul Somerville, Council Bluffs; Morris, Onslow, and Robert, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, nine brothers, five sisters and one grandson.
