SCOTCH GROVE - Duane W. Eby, 50, Cedar Rapids, was born Feb. 17, 1921 in Scotch Grove, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben W. Eby.

On Nov. 16, 1940 he was married to Iona Bauer at Iowa City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army air corps in World war II; a 30-year employee of the Penick and Ford in Cedar Rapids where he had lived the past 47 years.

When living in Scotch Grove, the Eby family lived on the farm formerly occupied by Hans Lange, now farmed by Leo Lange.

Surviving him besides his wife are five sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Young, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Rudolph Ambuel and Mrs. Lolen Bost, Monticello, Mrs. Ted Kilgore, Pleasant Valley and Mrs. William P. Carden, Hemet, Calif.; two brothers, Walter S. Eby, Scotch Grove and Thaine Eby, Hiawatha, all former residents of Scotch Grove.

Services were held at the Turner Chapel, West, with Elder Lewis W. Howard, of the Re-Organized Church of Latter Day Saints. Military rites and burial were in the Linwood cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
