Funeral services for Mrs. Hazle Wood and Arthur Dean Wood were held at Olin United Methodist church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 with the Rev. Lawrence Odegard officiating. Mrs. Ron Rogers was organist and Mrs. Nile Husmann, soloist. Burial was in Antioch cemetery.

Mrs. Wood and her son died in a home fire in Olin Monday, Jan. 3, 1971 (See story on front page in today's Eureka, and in the Jan. 4 Anamosa Journal).

Arthur Dean Wood was born July 19, 1955 at Anamosa, the son of Emery and Hazle Wood. He was a sophomore at the Olin Consolidated school.

Survivors include three brothers, a sister and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Moneypenny, Wyoming.

Pallbearers were Danny Harms, David Morning, Steve Fall, Dennis Moore, Tim Appleby and Chris Wooder.

Hazle Ruth Wood was born Jan. 15, 1916, the daughter of Arthur and Eunice Mott Wood. She attended school in Wyoming and Hale and graduated in Olin in 1936. She was married at Olin Feb. 14, 1938 to Emery Wood and lived in Olin since then.

She is survived by four children, Leroy, Harold and Mrs. LeRoy (Ruth Ann) Simmons, Olin; Leonard, Anamosa; a brother, Delbert Wood, Olin; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Wacker, Mrs. Grace Reynolds and Mrs. Geraldine Erickson; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in October 1969 and a daughter, Marie, in January 1970.
