ONSLOW - Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at the Onslow Presbyterian church for Hershel A. Soesbe, who died Jan. 4, 1972 at Monticello. The Rev. David Black will officiate; burial will be in the South Mineral cemetery near Onslow.

Hershel Soesbe was born April 25, 1899 in Delaware county, the son of Andrew and Lucy Taylor Soesbe. He spent his childhood in Delaware county where he later worked on farms, as well as in Jones and Linn counties. He was married Nov. 1, 1950 at Nashua to Thelma Johnson and they made their home in Onslow for 20 years. He was employed by Clinton engines, Maquoketa, for ten years.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ben (Naomi) Zumwalp, Cedar Rapids; 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, in 1970; his parents, two brothers and one sister.
