Joyce O. Juvan, age 91, of Solon, formerly of North Liberty, passed away on February 5, 2025 at the Solon Care Center.
A private family graveside service will be held.
Born on January 28, 1934, Joyce was the daughter of Alva Alexander Smith and Imo Antonetta Peterson (Smith) in Missouri. She worked for Bankers Advertising as a bookkeeper for many years.
Joyce enjoyed crocheting, making many blankets over the years. She also liked to spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens.
Joyce’s family includes her sons: Jeff Barkalow, Doug Barkalow, and Curt Barkalow; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille (Raymond) Bergthold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; a grandson, Mike; and a sister, Betty Dean Probst.
