Joseph Ralph Wallace, Jr. age 81, of Iowa City, passed away on January 27, 2025 at his home of heart related ailments.

Following his wishes, Ralph was cremated and funeral arrangements are pending for a later date.

Born on March 1, 1943 in Pittsburg, Kansas, Ralph was the son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Grassi) Wallace. He graduated from Weir High School in Weir, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Karen Kile on May 27, 1972 in Weir.

Ralph became a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #125 in Cedar Rapids, where he learned his trade. He traveled all over the country with his job as a Quality Control Inspector in Nuclear Power but got his start at Duane Arnold Energy Center in Palo, Iowa.

His children and grandchildren were very special and Ralph loved attending all of their activities. He enjoyed following Iowa Hawkeye Football. Ralph liked to spend time camping, fishing, boating, and the casino. He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

Ralph’s family includes his wife, Karen; daughters, Melissa (Billy) Doke of Carl Junction, MO and Kimberly Ellingson (Matt Tredinnick) of Mineral Point, Wisconsin; sons, Douglas (Jan) Beaver of North Liberty and Dennis (Jennifer) Beaver of Post Falls, Idaho; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice (Jim) Ross and Linda (Wayne) Solomon; and a sister-in-law, Helen Marie Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Wallace; and a grandson-in-law, Kevin Ford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family of Joseph Ralph Wallace for future charitable contributions.
