Thank you for your help - I've discovered as mentioned above that many deaths are not recorded.
I had just hoped to find a death record - as I have her headstone, the family bible record - but little else. She was born in Iowa and apparently no birth records prior to 1880 -
Yes - its correct that the Morelands lived in Farmington. They were married there (I have their marriage cert) and they had their son Bryce Charles Moreland there...(I have his birth cert with her name on it)
She does have another name - she was in her family census as a child as Pamphylia - and by the time she is a teenager and then married - the Pamphylia becomes Viola. Who could blame her? :)
I have Charles A. Moreland death as Jan 26, 1960 (I have a copy of his death cert)
As for dying in Mental hospital - I hadn't thought of that. She was only 31 at her death so I never thought about that idea. We have lots of breast cancer in our family - I thought it was that. So I wonder - besides Henry for a mental hospital - where were the hospitals in 1900 near Van Buren county?
Don A from Keosauqua looked for her in Farmington/Van Buren Records and newspaper for me. Need to look further in the year I guess. The census does show her there - I found another death that occured earlier in the year and they counted him in the census. Thought it was "that year" not at this moment kind of counting. (I'm new to this - can you tell?)
Thanks for your input!
