Looking for death information for Viola Moreland

Where can I find death records from 1900 for Jefferson County?

My GGrandmother VIola Slee was born in1869 Iowa (Altoona) and is buried in Farmington Iowa Greenglade cemetery with a marker for death 1900. (Viola Moreland)

She resided with husband Charles Moreland (and son Bryce charles moreland) in Farmington - but her death is not recorded there - or I can't find it. I do have a family bible record of her death as Mar 13, 1900 - I'd like to find the death record to gather more records and information about the family.

A family member suggests that perhaps she died in a neighboring county hospital - but I'm at a loss where to start a search for her death record.

I've looked online for death records for Jefferson and Lee County but turned up empty. Also - can not locate Van Buren County death records. Is this something that needs to be searched in person?
