Looking for any information on the trial of Matthew Sewell accused of the murder of my grandfather's brother John Turner age 23 near the Catholic Church in Garryowen on evening of November 3, 1878. See newspaper clipping below.

November 15, 1878 - Page 1, Column 2Dead: John Turner, the young man who was assaulted on the night of Nov. 3rd, died at the residence of Mrs. McCarty in Garryowen, on Sunday night Nov. 10th. Prior to his death he made a statement that the assult was made by Matt Sewell.
A coroners jury was called and the verdict of the investigation is at the present writing unknown. Sewell, we understand has been arrested and will have his examination before Esquire Keefe today.
