(January 18, 1923 – July 22, 1945)Obituary
Cushing – Kenneth Revere Kuhlken was born January 18, 1923 at Cushing. He attended the Cushing consolidated school and graduated with the class of 1940. After a course at a Sioux City commercial college he accepted a position in the office of the Cudahy Packing Co., in Sioux City, where he was employed at the time of his death, July 22, 1945. While living in the city he made his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Yock. He was a member of the Morningside Lutheran Church, having been confirmed there in 1942. Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Kuhlken of Cushing; two sisters and a brother, Donna Faye of Kansas City, Mo., and Joan Marie and Henry at home; his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grefe of Cushing; and other more distant relatives. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. July 24 at the Cushing Lutheran church with Rev. E. T. Boe of Morningside Lutheran church officiating. Mrs. E. T. Boe, with Jo Ann Segerson accompanying, sang two hymns. Mrs. E. H. Ohme, Mrs. F. W. Baumann and Mrs. C. G. Baxter arranged the flowers. Friends also contributed a large sum to orpranages and hospitals as a memorial to Kenneth. Pall bearers were Arnold Grell, Reynold Grell, Allen Volkert, Wm.
