OBITUARY.
FARNSWORTH.
Clinton Willis Farnsworth was born in Whitewater, Wis., the first of March, 1850.
He was the third child of a family of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Rice Farnsworth, of whom only two sisters and three brothers now remain unclaimed by death.
The Farnsworth family came west in 1869 and located in Orleans twp., Winneshiek county, four miles southeast of Cresco.
In 1865, Dec. 29th, “Clint” was married to Fannie C. Moore of the immediate neighborhood in which they then lived and have since remained.
Only one child was given them, Willis Clinton, who died Dec. 21st, 1916.
Nine years ago Mr. and Mrs. Farnsworth left the farm and came to town to evade the “stress of toil and fret and care” and enjoy a hard-earned period of leisure.
As a friend and citizen Mr. Farnsworth’s life was an open book known and read by all who knew him. Not a line of that book was blotted by dishonor. He was temperate, gentle and kind; a home-loving husband and father.
About six years ago he felt he ought to assume a more definite relationship with the church and, in company with his wife, became a member of the Congregational church.
When he became conscious of his real physical condition he simply said this world was good enough for him to live in but if his time had come to leave it he was ready to go. He quietly passed away in the early hours of the Sabbath morning June 1st, 1919.
He leaves a wife, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren, Raymond Romane, nine years and Leota two years of age to mourn their loss.
The home funeral occurred on Wednesday afternoon at half-past two at the residence No. 721 N. Elm street, conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. A. Bockoven. Interment in Oak Lawn cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.
The widow and relatives wish to express sincere thanks for flowers and favors of friends during this sickness.
Mrs. Fannie Farnsworth,
Mrs. Willis Farnsworth.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows shows he was married in 1875 which does not agree with the above.
