OBITUARY.
Faye Almeda Loso was born near Paxton, Ford county, Ill., July 20, 1879. She was the second child of James and Mary Losa, having one sister Edith, and two brothers, Fred and Calvin.
In 1889 the family moved from Ford county to Henderson county, Ill., and a few years later to Warren county, Ill.
It was during their residence in this part of Illinois that the subject of this sketch when 16 years of age became a member of the United Presbyterian church at Olena and when 21 years old she was married to Bertron Morris Jan. 9, 1900. Three children came to bless this home, two boys, Garnet and James, and one girl, Nonia; all born in the vicinity of Abingdon, Knox county, Ill., where the family lived till the spring of 1914 when they moved to Howard county, Iowa, locating near Lime Springs.
Mrs. Morris’ illness covers a period of many months during which time the best medical skill was secured, but proved powerless to check the progress of disease and the intense suffering which she bore with remarkable patience and even cheerfulness and though she naturally wished it might have been possible for her to have lived longer for the sake of her husband and children, yet she was ready to go when her heavenly Father called her.
On Friday morning, May 23, 1919, the spirit of Mrs. Morris went back to the God who gave it, and to be with the Saviour in whom she believed and trusted to keep that which she had committed unto Him against that day.
The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, May 25, in the M. E. church, where a large number of friends and neighbors met to pay their tribute of respect to the deceased and their sympathy for the bereaved husband, children, parents, brothers and sisters of Mrs. Morris. Rev. G. M. Shoemaker had charge of the service and the M. E. church choir sang “Forever With the Lord,” “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me” and “The Lord is My Shepherd,” the last being selected by Mrs. Morris some time before her passing away. The body was laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery Lime Springs, amid a bower of apple blossoms and beautiful flowers.
The sympathy of the community goes out to the sorrowing husband, children, brothers, sisters and aged parents.Card of Thanks.
We wish to express our sincere appreciation of the thoughtful and kindly ministrations and sympathy of our neighbors and friends during the illness and since the death of our loved one.
