Funeral services for Mrs. Lawrence Lerch, 28, were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday and at the Highland Lutheran church at 2:45 p.m. The Rev. V. A. Fiskerbeck officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lerch died Thursday, May 15, at her home in Elkader following a long illness.
Irma Stannard was born Sept. 13, 1923, on a farm near Volga, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Stannard. She was graduated from the Elkader high school with the class of 1941 and taught rural school for a number of years. On Sept. 23, 1945, she was married to Lawrence Lerch. They lived on a farm in Highland township for two years and then moved to Elkader, which has since been their home.
Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Linda Sue, age three, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Stannard, two sisters, Mrs. Vernon Wilker, Volga, Mrs. Edward Walz, Elkader and a brother, Orville, of Elkader, and her paternal grandfather, E. T. Stannard, Waterloo.
Pallbearers were Leo Hyde, Pete Westby, Henry Possehl Jr., Irvin Fehlhafer, Joe Brink, and Dwaine Frieden.
