Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Christenson were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, April 16 in the Norway Lutheran church with Dr. S. J. Strandjord officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Caroline Christenson, the daughter of Tosten and Christine Embretson, was born in Wagner township December 26, 1867, and died Easter Sunday, April 13, 1952, in her home at St. Olaf.
Caroline Embretson was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church. In 1880 she was married to John Christenson and they made their home in St. Olaf where they lived until their deaths. Mr. and Mrs. Christensen observed their 56th wedding anniversary in 1946.
She was an active member of the St. Olaf Ladies Aid and for many years a member of the Norway church choir, and took a great interest in other church activities.
Surviving her are a daughter, Celia, and two brothers, Henry and Theodore Embretson of St. Olaf. Her husband, John, died March 13, 1947, and an infant daughter, Jeanette, died in 1909.
Pallbearers were Alvin J. Larson, Orvin Embretson, E. F. Wilke, Fred Rugland, Harry O. Larson, Dean Orvis, Vernon L. Diers and Vernett Embretson.
