Fred ______ Davis, __, died at People's hospital in Independence, April 08, 1952, at _:__ p.m., following a brief illness. He had been taken to the hospital on Friday with pneumonia and then died very suddenly on Tuesday from a heart attack when he seemed to be on the way to recovery.
Mr. Davis was born September 17, 1875, and was the son of William and Eliza Jane Blancher Davis. On September 12, 1906 he was united in marriage with Miss Hattie Smith at Elkader. He was a member of the Baptist church, the Woodmen lodge and was a member of the Clayton county board of review at Elkader. For several years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Davis lived on a farm east of Strawberry Point; then Mr. Davis worked for several years in the Norris Hardware in Strawberry Point, and since that time has been in the real estate business here.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in the Methodist church at Strawberry Point with the Rev. Wayne C. Carlson officiating. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery
He is survived by his wife, Hattie, of Strawberry Point, and his daughter, Mrs. Wendell L. Eidahl (Dorothy), one grandson, Davis Lee Eidahl, and his son-in-law, Wendell Eidahl, all of Newton, Iowa.
