Henry Warnicke, 83, died Monday, March 17, at Finley hospital in Dubuque. He had been ill for the past three months.

Funeral services were held at the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 20, and at the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:00 o'clock, the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating.

Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Funeral services for Henry Warnecke were held from the Witt Funeral chapel at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon March 20, and the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Paul Kitterer officiated. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Henry Warnecke was born in Cox Creek township, Clayton County, Iowa, Feb. 06, 1869 the son of John and Margaret Meyer Warnecke.

He spent his entire life in Cox Creek township. He had never married. After moving off the home place in the year 1920 he continued to farm several other places until 1924 when he and his brother John bought the place on the three corners three miles southeast of Elkader and which had since been his home. He had been in failing health and about the middle of last December he was taken to a hospital in Dubuque where he died Monday March 17, 1952. He had reached the age of 83 years, one month and eleven days.

He was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church.

He is survived by one sister Mrs. Adolph Krieg of Strawberry Point also nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister Frank in July 1934; Lena in August 1944, and John in January 1946. Pallbearers were: John Farrell, Harold Downey, Henry Possehl Jr., Henry Cords, Charles Dohrer, Milton Klink.
