Louis G. Tackman, son of John and Minnie Tackman was born on May 30, 1880, on a farm near Garnavillo, Iowa. He was a member off the St. Paul's Lutheran church of Garnavillo. He received his education in the local schools and later, together with his brother, the late Wm. Tackman, began farming near Garnavillo.

On April 16, 1918, he was united in marriage to Margaret Meenan at Elkader. Together they farmed until his death last Thursday. Mr. Tackman had attained the age of seventy-five years, four months, and twenty-seven days.

Surviving are his wife Margaret, one son, Harlan at home, two daughters, Iona, Mrs. Paul Doeppke of Garber, and Arlene at home; one grandson, Ronald Doeppke; two brothers, Henry of Guttenberg, and Charles of Garnavillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary, and three brothers, Fred, William and John.

Services were held at Tuecke funeral home Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating.

Burial was in Guttenberg City cemetery.
