MONONA: Funeral services for Mrs. Victor Trappe, 58, were held Thursday, Oct. 06, at 1:30 from the Schultz funeral home and 1:45 at the Methodist church. The Rev. E. Waymen Hilmer officiated.
Burial was in the City cemetery.
Mrs. Trappe died Monday, Oct. 03, in a Prairie du Chien (Wis.) hospital, after an illness of several months. She was born Feb. 19, 1897, a daughter of William and Magdalena Shrader Kurth in Wagner township. On March 30, 1915, she was married to Victor Trappe at Elkader, Iowa. They have farmed near Monona for many years. Mrs. Trappe was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Her parents, one sister, Mrs. Vern Pettit, and one brother, William, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, seven sons, Willard and Elmer of Mason City: Harold of Luana; Herbert of St. Olaf; Gaylord, Emmett and Robert of Monona; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Klinkenberg of St. Olaf and Mrs. Elsie Klima of Elkader; two brothers; Lou Kurth and Walter Kurth of Waukon and 15 grandchildren.
Music at the services was provided by Mrs. George Martin and Mrs. Ben Frese Jr. Mrs. Ivon Schultz was organist.
Pallbearers were: Joe Larson, Walter Selberg, Gerald and Gilbert Kurth, Donald Trappe, Walter Pettit and Alvin and Fred Klinkenberg.
