Skaar - Witter marriage - 1955

SKAAR, WITTER, TAYLOR, BUTTERFIELD

Sunday, July 31, in the Giard Methodist church, MariAnn Witter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Witter, and LeRoy R. Skaar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor of South San Gabriel, Calif., were married by the Rev. Lester B. Scherer. Nancy Witter, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Ann Witter, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Arthur Butterfield of Madison, Wis., brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. Carlton Witter, brother of the bride, sang two selections during the ceremony.

Mrs. Skaar has been employed in the office of the Iowa Steel and Iron Works Co. in Cedar Rapids. Mr. Skaar was released from the service in June, having served seven months with the Airborne Division in the U.S. and 29 months with the armored division in Germany, attending school for NOC, small arms and mechanics in Ful_on, Germany.
