Royal Mayor 10 Years Dies Zeb Joseph Santage, 63, Mayor of the town of Royal for the past ten years, will be buried Friday in the Riverside Cemetery in Spencer. Santage lived in Royal 38 years and it was through his efforts as Mayor, that the town acquired a waterworks. The funeral services will be held Friday from a Spencer funeral chapel at 2 p.m. Rev. Kohlmann will officiate at the services, with internment scheduled for the Riverside cemetery. Five councilmen and the town Marshal of Royal, will serve as pallbearers. They are, Peter Heindyche,B.A. Demers,Ed Merchant,Harold Jensen,John Glackin,Marshal, and George Bailey. Zeb Joseph Santage was born on September 22,1876, in St.Ann Ill. and grew to manhood there. Following his marriage, 43 years ago, he and his family moved to a farm south of Royal, where they resided for six years. They then moved to Royal, where Mr. Santage was engaged in the harness and shoe business for the rest of his life. Surviving are his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Harold Anderson,of Hayward,Calif.,Mrs Walter Johnson of Newell, Mrs. Dorothy Hines of San Francisco,Calif., and two sons, A.L.Santage of Denison, and Donald Santage of Spencer. His Mother Mrs. Rosalie Morrow of Royal also survives. He leaves 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two half brothers, Jim Morrow of Fort Dodge and Pearly Morrow of Peterson and two half sisters,Mrs. August Nielsen of Royal, and Mrs. Carl Swanson of Royal. One brother, Arthur, preceded in death.
