Spencer Lad Claimed by Death Feb. 1
Many Attend Funeral Rites for Robert Hoberg: SundayA valiant ten-day fight against the ravages of lobar pneumonia and complications was ended for Robert Hoberg, the 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hoberg, living fire miles south and 2 miles east of Spencer, in his death last Thursday evening, February 1. He passed away at eight o'clock at the parental borne.
The youth, reared on the farm and grown to a splendid exemplification of physical fortitude, was taken severely ill ten days prior to his death. All that could be done in the field of medicine was brought into use, but his condition gradually grew more critical until death claimed him.
Funeral Sunday
Memorial rites held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Congregational church were attended by the many friends of the young man and his family. The auditorium was filled, and flowers silently paying tribute to a life terminated in its early beginning formed a huge blanket at the bier. Rev. B. J. Trlckey delivered the commemoration address. Mrs. James A. King, Mrs. Howard E. King, Mrs. George Krause, and Miss Leone King sang as a requiem, "Abide with Me." Mrs. R. M. Tuttle played the organ. Members of the Spencer chapter of DeMolay accorded their late members with impressive order rites during the church services. Robert was recently installed as senior steward and had been actively engaged In the affairs of the order.
