Last rites for John B. Foens, 75, former Tipton shoe repair shop operator, were held at Madison, Fla. Dec. 27, 1989 with the Rev. Rich Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Macedonia cemetery, Madison county, Fla.

Mr. Foens died at the Presbyterian Nursing home, Quitman, Ga. Dec. 23.

A native of Pickney, Ill. he had farmed in the Tipton area and operated a shoe repair shop on Cedar street before moving to Madison, Fla. in 1970.

Mr. Foens was a member of First United Methodist church, Madison, Fla. and the Madison Country club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 2 sons, Richard J., Tipton and John B. Foens Jr., South Elgin, Ill.; 4 brothers, Harold Foens, Sun City, Ariz.; Roy Foens, Tipton; Carl Foens and Charles Luck, St. Louis, Mo.; 5 sisters, Mable Kritze, Belleville, Ill.; Grace Litton, Florissant, Mo.; Evelyn Rhodes, St. Louis, Mo.; June Medley, Salem, Mo. and Mildred Sparks, Wheeling, Ill.; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
