Funeral services for Mrs. Johannes (Caroline Elizabeth) Damborg, 87, were held at the United Methodist church, Clarence, Dec. 25, 1989 with the Rev. Susan Detwiler officiating. Burial was in Dayton Valley cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. Frederick Drexler, Edwin J. and Bill Decker, Reginald Jennings, Robert Hunwardsen and Richard Wilson. Virginia Robinson was organist. The Methodist mixed choir sang.
Mrs. Damborg died at the Clarence Nursing Home Dec. 21.
The daughter of Fred and Sarah Frink Decker, she was born at Clarence Nov. 3, 1902. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers college. She married Johannes Damborg at Clarence Aug. 23, 1930. He died May 20, 1948.
She taught school in Rolfe before returning to Clarence in 1948. She retired in 1968 as an assistant cashier at the Clarence Savings Bank.
She was a member of the Methodist church, the Order of the Eastern Star and over a 50 year member of the PEO Sisterhood.
Mrs. Damborg is survived by a son, Mark, Seattle, Wash. and a brother, Robert Decker, Clarence.
