Funeral services for Mrs. Luther (Pauline M.) Thumm, 83, were held at First United Church of Christ Dec. 29, 1989 with the Rev. Robert Molsberry officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were David, Douglas, Jeffrey, Michael and Robert Thumm, Bruce Eiselstein and Kevin Whitman. Betty Trevathan was organist.

Mrs. Thumm died at the Mechanicsville Care center Dec. 26.

The daughter of Harrison L. and Alice Farrington Kinyon, she was born in Osceola, Mo. April 11, 1906 and attended the rural schools of Clinton county. She was married to Luther Thumm at Rock Island, Ill. Dec. 29, 1932.

A homemaker and cook, she lived in the Tipton area until moving to the Mechanicsville Care Center in 1986. She was a 46 year member of the Women of the Moose and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by 4 sons, Delmar, Mt. Vernon; Charles and Byron, (Burt), Tipton and Darrel, Edmond, Okla.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 7 brothers, 3 sisters and a grandson.
