Funeral services for William L. (Bill) Port, 75, a native of Tipton, were held at Turner Chapel West, Cedar Rapids, Dec. 18, 1989 with Bishop Walter Hales of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Port, 283 14th Ave. SW, died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Dec. 14.
The son of Glen and Claudia Dice Port, he was born near Tipton Nov. 14, 1914. He married Evelyn Marie Yeater at Cedar Rapids Sept. 28, 1946.
Mr. Port was employed by Wilson Foods for 33 years, retiring in 1976. He was a longtime member of Packing House Workers Local P3 and the Cedar Rapids Rabbit Breeders association.
He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Jan Mulholland, Iowa Park, Texas and Karen Walton, Cedar Rapids; 2 sons, Gary W., Lisbon and Randy D., Allen, Texas; 2 brothers, Wayne, Cedar Rapids and Leonard, Tipton; 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
