Funeral services for LeRoy Meiers, 75, were held at Sheets and Son Funeral Home Dec. 19, 1989 with the Rev. Donald Sondrol officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Roland Meyers, Harold Wentzel, Jim Shontz, Eldon Dietz, Cecil Mathias and Max Phelps.

Mr. Meiers died at the Iowa City Extended Care center Dec. 15.

The son of John C. and Caroline Knabel Meiers, he was born at Big Rock Dec. 30, 1913 and was educated in the rural Clinton county schools. He was married to Dorothy M. Kelding at Walnut Ridge, Ark. Sept. 9, 1949.

A resident of the Tipton area most of his adult life, he was a painter and laborer. He was a member of the Tipton Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Pat) Sheldon, Tipton and 2 sons, Richard and Gary, Tipton; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Fredrick, Oceanside, Calif. and Ardell (Andy), Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers and a sister.
