Funeral services for Wayne Frederick Karr, 61, West Branch were held at Wellman Oct. 28, 1988 with the Rev. Earl Erb officiating. Burial was in the Wassonville cemetery, Wellman.

Mr. Karr died at Veterans Administration Medical center, Iowa City Oct. 26.

The son of George T. and Martha Morrow Karr, he was born at Wellman Feb. 4, 1927 and attended the Wellman school. He served in the navy during World War II. After leaving service he became a barber in Wellman, moving to West Branch in 1968 where he operated a barber shop. He also worked for a feed and grain company at West Branch.

He is survived by 3 sons, Michael, Coralville and Danny and Brian, both of West Branch; 2 daughters, Susan Halverson, North Liberty and Diane Prim, Spokane, Wash.; 2 sisters, Gladys Ayers, Wellman and Fern McKay, Iowa City and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and 5 brothers.
