Last rites for Harold J. Wilkening, 67, Bennett resident, were held at First United Church of Christ, Tipton, Oct. 22, 1988 with the Rev. Donald Gardella officiating. Burial was in Inland cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph and Howard Stuhr, Norman Hinrichs, Sieg Petersen, Warren Rixe and Victor Andresen. Jim Schneider was vocalist and Ruth Riedesel organist.

Mr. Wilkening died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Oct 19. He had been a resident of the Cedar County Care Facility.

The son of Paul and Lula Stuehm Wilkening, he was born near Bennett Oct. 20, 1920, and was educated in the rural schools of that area. He was a retired farmer and a member of Peace Church of Christ United, Bennett.

He is survived by 2 aunts, Amanda Hinrichs, Bennett and Nellie Stuehm, Wilton and several cousins.
