Graveside services for Helen L. Jeffers, 84, Davenport and formerly of Tipton, were held Sept. 29, 1988 at the Masonic cemetery in Tipton.

Mrs. Jeffers died Sept. 26 at the Americana Health Care Center in Davenport.

Helen Gregg was born March 3, 1904 in Tipton. She married Everett Jeffers in December 1926 in Burlington. He died in 1962.

Mrs. Jeffers had been a teacher at the Annie Wittenmeyer school in Davenport, and in later years was a piano and organ teacher in Davenport. She was a past Worthy Matron of O.E.S. in Tipton.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Weisshaus, Roselle, Ill.; 2 sons, John, Rolling Meadows, Ill. and James, Malaysia; 4 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Florence Hayer, LaGrange, Ill. and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Claude (Lulu) Werling, Davenport.
