Funeral services for Paul "Mike" Hamann, 34, Durant and formerly of Tipton, were held Sept. 17, 1988 at the Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Durant, with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Mabyn Fox was the organist and Jim Schneider was the vocalist. Pallbearers were Joel Belitz, Steve Rekemeyer, Bruce Pierce, Jerry Oakley, Tom Reed and Brad Buckland. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Hamann died Sept. 14 of injuries he suffered in a 2 vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Scott county Sept. 13.

He was born June 20, 1954 in Iowa City and married Carole Hermiston May 20, 1983 in Durant. He was self-employed.

Mr. Hamann is survived by his wife, a daughter, Chelsie, at home; his mother, Helen Hamann, Atalissa; 2 brothers, Robert, New Orleans, La. and Glen, Houston, Texas and 2 sisters, Linda Wagner, West Liberty and Lisa Fox, Ames.
