Madrid, IowaJennie T. Fusaro, 86, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the Madrid Home in Madrid. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 16, at the Sanborn Memorial Chapel in the Madrid Home, where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.
Jennie was born on September 19, 1925 in Moran, Iowa to Andrew and Mary Boresi Bertini. In 1945, she married Dominic Joseph Fusaro during World War II while Dominic was stationed in Denver, CO. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Michael D. Fusaro. Jennie was a gifted and meticulous homemaker and also worked part-time in the meat department of several grocery stores in the Des Moines area. Jennie was an excellent cook, enjoyed making crafts and was especially known for her beautifully crocheted afghans. Jennie was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Fusaro of New York, NY and his partner, Anil Pathak, M.D.; five siblings, Rosemary Gibbons, Eldina (Lester) Gibbons, Gino (Marlene) Bertini and Paul (Rosemarie) Bertini all of Madrid, and Diane (Mark) Mallory of Utah; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jennie was preceded into eternal life by her husband, Dominic in 1986; one sister, Elsie Partridge; and two brothers-in-law, Patrick Partridge and Charles Gibbons.
