June D. Eppert, 78, died on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at the Luther Christian Church in Luther, IA. Burial will follow in the Squire Boone Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home.

June was born in Madrid on June 17, 1933, to Harold, and Cathryn (Page) Crabtree. She lived most of her in life in the Madrid area. June married Raymond Eppert on June 15, 1952. She worked for the Eastern Star Home in Boone as the activity director, and was also a homemaker. She served as a county election official since 1969. She also wrote the Luther news for the Madrid paper. June was also a member of the Luther Christian Church in Luther.

June is survived by her husband, Ray; two sons, Keith (Marsha) Eppert, Douglas (B.J) Eppert; five grandchildren, Bradley, Heather, Nicholas, Alexandra, and Michael.; two great-grandchildren, Madison, and Jordan; one brother, Marvin (Judy) Crabtree; two sisters, Correne (Dean) Barrett, and Arlene Battani. June is preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Linn; and brother, Gary.
