Died 1 February 1973Charles' father was Fleming Evans [Fleming was the son of Turner Evans and Nancy (Fleming) Evans of Linn County, Iowa.] Charles' mother was Emma (Butler) Evans. The Evans were farmers in Blaine Twp. near Dows, Iowa. Grace was the daughter of William and Lizzie Hess. She was born in Bureau County, Illinois. Her parents moved to Springbrook, Washburn County, Wisconsin where she married Charles Evans on 22 June 1909.
Charles and Grace lived at 309 NW 2nd in Eagle Grove. He worked on the railroad out of Eagle Grove. They are both buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
Charles had 2 brothers, James B. Evans, also with the railroad and George Calvin Evans who moved to Illinos and was in the retail clothing business. He had sisters, Esther and Mary Ellen. Grace had several siblings, one of whom, Arthur J. Hess, (born 22 April 1897) moved to Eagle Grove and worked for the railroad. He boarded with Margaret Rankin's mother.
