Dressed in white, from head to foot, Mr. Williams was a familiar figure afternoons and evenings on Sioux City's busiest corner where he dispensed his bags of candy from a movable stand. Mr. Williams began his business in 1902 and continued until 1914, when he took a position as news agent on the Milwaukee railroad. He was back on the corner again in 1930.
The candyman retired in 1938, because of ill health.
