Lee Hapgood Brennan

October 23, 1941 - March 18, 2024

SERGEANT BLUFF - Lee Hapgood Brennan, 82, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on March 18, 2024, after waiting for his favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day. A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Lee was born on October 23, 1941 in Storm Lake, IA to Louis and Bernice (Hapgood) Brennan. Lee moved to Sioux City in 1942 and attended Hunt, North Junior, and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1960. He then went on to attend Iowa State University. He enlisted into the Air National Guard, where he served for 16 years and spent a year in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Karen Bracy in 1965, to this union they had 3 children. Lee worked for Chesterman Company before retiring after 40 years on December 31, 2000. He enjoyed going to auctions, swap meets, and restoring old cars, especially Model T's and selling T parts. He would build his underground "mole house" with wheelbarrows and shovels.

Those left to honor his memory include his children: Christina Beals, Buford, GA, Matthew Brennan, Yelm, WA, Jennifer Blume, Ankeny, IA; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and significant other, Darline Ross in 2013.
