Hi Cyndy,
Saw your posting on Iowa vital records difficulties. I have had that problem sometimes, too.
I have worked with Russ Askland a lot, who also has posted responses. Russ is very knowledgeable.
Anyway, I believe that I am related through Christina Mitchell, who came from farm Erland in Tysvaer parish, Rogaland County, Norway in 1857.
The LDS Family History Centers have some films that may help you. They can be rented for $4 for a 3-week period, but you have to go to one of their centers. You might have luck with Film 1401734, especially Item 3 on that film.
Iowa Genealogical Society has several indexes and extracts of interest. Look in the publications section of their website.
I am intetrested in any results you find.
Do you have copies of Thomas's and Owen's marriage licenses from Livingston County, IL?
