You no doubt Know that Ephaim Overton is listed in the 1820 census in Knox County Kentucky. He is living on Clear Creek.
My dilemma: My 2nd gr grandfather, Robert Campbell, while not listed in the 1820 census had a land warrent on Clear Creek in 1822. Robert's parents were David Campbell & Sarah Mason. Robert is married with children by 1830 (still on Clear Creek) There were only two families on Clear Creek that had daughters of an age to have been Robert's wife. These families were Isaac Gibson, and Ephraim Overton. In 1850, Robert's wife is listed as Mary ,born ca 1804 in Tennesee. Do you know where in Tenn. the Overtons were before migrating into Knox County?
Robert was in Mercer County, Missouri in 1850 through 1880--died there in 1883. Some of the Campbells were in Iowa just after 1850.
Do you think Mary might have been an Overton?
