Henry ANDERSON and his family appear in the 1870 census for Liberty township, Warren Co., Iowa. In this census, he is a 50-year-old white male farmer, with real estate valued at $500 and personal estate valued at $350. He was born in Ohio and was a male citizen of the United States 21 years or older. His wife, Mary, 36, white female housewife, born in Ohio, and children, Amelia, Levi, Hester, Abraham, and Virginia, ages nine to seventeen appear in the household as well. Amelia was born in Indiana; the other children were born in Illinois. We believe Henry’s son, Levi, appears in the 1870 census for Jackson township, Clinton Co., Indiana as a 14-year-old white male ward of Elizabeth ROGERS.
In 1860 this family was enumerated in Township 22, Range 8, Mason Co., Illinois. We have been unable to locate Henry and his wife in subsequent censuses. His children appear in the 1880, 1900-1930 censuses in other states. What happened to Henry and Mary Ann Derry ANDERSON after June 1870?
