Thank you so very much for your response! I had no idea that Jonathan ended up in Colorado with his daughter! I am very curious to find out when he was buried (the cemetery website says first internment wasn't until after 1880). I cannot find Jonathan after the 1870 census. I see his daughter as a widow in 1880 census but her father is not in the household. This grave that you found is definitely his because that is his war service record. I verified it by going to the National Archives and finding his Certificate of Disability.A you probably know this 37th regiment was very well known as the "Greybeard Regiment". This certificate of Disability lists his birth as Berkshire England. I am hoping to find a newspaper article or something that gives me a clue as to his parents names back in England. Or anything else about his life.
